Web-based data logger available

Carlo Gavazzi offers a web-based data logger that complements their well-proven Dupline Field and Installation Bus system. The Dupline Online system provides a cost-effective method of collecting all kinds of data, including digital and analogue I/O, temperature values and energy meter readings. Many individual Dupline systems can be connected to one Dupline Online package, making it suitable for monitoring many remote sites. To make a cost saving, the Dupline Controller can provide energy management functions that can be customised for the application.

The collected data from the Dupline installation is held on a central server that can be viewed by many users. Data is protected by a unique user name and password for each user. By logging onto the server, users can access the data as overviews, trend curves or histograms from any PC connected to the Internet. Alternatively, data can also be automatically transferred automatically to third party packages or extracted in a CSV format. Users can choose to have automatic alerts sent from the central server via SMS or e-mail, if preset limits are exceeded or an event occurs. Users can also use commands via the Dupline Online server to provide a level of control in their system.

Dupline Online complements the extensive Carlo Gavazzi Dupline product range, which also includes digital and analogue I/O modules, PLC and PC interfaces, HMIs and modems. Together with the 2-wire Dupline bus, these enable multiple digital and analogue signals to be transmitted over many kilometres to support event monitoring and process control for a wide range of applications. These include building automation, sub metering and billing, water distribution, energy management, and factory monitoring.

By creating a turnkey application for collection and management of data generated by processes occurring at remote sites, Dupline Online now eliminates the cost, design effort and risk of implementing a custom infrastructure. Customers can now conveniently access data using a standard browser from a PC connected to the internet. In addition to the inherent scalability of Dupline networks, Dupline Online also now allows enhancement of existing Dupline installations to provide easy access to process or event data, dependent only on the availability of an Internet or cellular telecom network connection. New Dupline implementations can be conceived from the outset to provide secure data access via a standard web browser.
