Display Solutions has announced the availability of the Aaeon APC-9172, a robust panel PC which includes the high performance Intel Core 2 Duo CPU.
The combination of the powerful processing capability and low power consuming CPU, together with a 17" LCD, is ideal for harsh environments which require intensive graphical displays or data manipulation, such as critical or advanced factory monitoring, machine control systems and 3D inspection.
The APC units have been developed in response to customers who require an integrated unit that is cost-effective, space saving and above all, resistant to the kinds of aggressive environments encountered in many industrial processes. With IP-65 certification, it is protected from water and dust to guarantee longevity in harsh and dirty conditions.

The APC-9172 also has strong multimedia capabilities which make it ideal for kiosk and gaming applications, with up to 2GB DDR DRAM. Further features include 5 USB 2.0 ports, and two PCI slots for flexible expansion. The housing features a scratch-resistant aluminium panel in front of a heavy-duty steel chassis, and incorporates an easily replaced, long-life cooling fan and filter.
