Rugged interface options extended

EAO, a specialist in Human Machine Interfaces, has introduced an expanding product range and specialist engineering services devoted to rugged interfaces.

New to the market is the unique M.series keypad. The modular construction and innovative technology allows for rapid customisation during production for many applications - generally without any additional engineering or tooling costs.

The sleek and contemporary design matches the look and feel of today’s technology, but without compromise to robustness: M.series keypads offer vandal resistance by added key-shoulder protection and shock resistance also.

This new keypad is ideal for use in credit card readers, ATMs and other terminals including kiosks and vending machines. It is equally suited to industrial uses including security and access control.

The square Series 04 provides users with a large surface ‘pressel’ area and, when flush-mounted, extra protection against accidental operation. Additional lens protection can be achieved with an extended or sealed ring (for round version only).

Series 04’s are very robust behind the panel too. The standard slow-make contact blocks are fitted with hard silver contacts, but for aggressive environments, silver/palladium contacts can be specified. For switching lower currents, a gold plated contact is available.
