Unlike simple scanning systems where the full bar code is recognised by a single continuous scan, the code reconstruction technology of Leuze Electronic's new 500i series barcode readers gathers data from several high-speed passes. And thanks to bespoke Leuze software, the device is able to rebuild the correct identity despite a code label being misaligned or partially damaged. A key feature of the 500I is a new high-performance lens, which gives it a ±30 degree asymmetrical optical angle of aperture, creating a large scanning field even at close range.
