Routeco has introduced a one-day Foundation Level Introduction to ATEX Training Course, aimed at facilitating the requirement of the ATEX directives. The course covers a detailed overview of ATEX and related legislation - a legal requirement that every country in the European Community will implement and enforce.
The directives apply to all those who process materials which give rise to potentially explosive atmospheres. In addition to the traditional environments where consideration has to be given to potentially explosive atmospheres such as oil, gas and petrochemicals, the inclusion of dust within the ATEX directives means the legislation now affects most sectors of UK industry. A key part of the ATEX directives is the specific requirement that all concerned should receive appropriate training.
The course presenter is a senior consultant with over 35 years experience in manufacturing industries, who has both implemented the CENELEC and ATEX directives and helped influence the development of ATEX through local and European standards committees. The following topics are to be covered at an appreciation level: Flammability, CENELEC and ATEX rules, Explosion Protection Document (EPD), Area Classification, Explosion Protection Methods, Equipment Marking, Dusts, Laboratories, and Systems of Work.
The Foundation Level Introduction to ATEX is an invaluable source of information for plant managers, designers, process development, support and operations personnel, as well as maintenance, construction and commissioning engineers, and a great starting point on the way to ATEX Compliance.
The course takes place on Wednesday, 10th October, 2007, and runs from 09:30 - 16:30. The cost amounts to £275 per delegate. The location is: Routeco Head Office, Davy Avenue, Knowlhill, Milton Keynes, MK5 8HJ.
