Thermal management added to line-up

RS Components has announced that Thermal Management is the latest addition to its Technology Solutions line-up. The company has combined its extensive range of thermal management products with the latest innovative devices to create one of the most comprehensive thermal management offerings now available.

Overheating is the most common cause of electronic equipment failure. The ICs and components inside electronic equipment give off heat as a by-product of power consumption when being used. As devices get smaller, so their power density rises, and heat dissipation requirements increase. With the electronics industry continuing to design ever smaller and faster devices, manufacturers are constantly being challenged to find new ways to combat the problem of thermal management. Integrating an effective method early in the design process is essential to avoid costly problems at a later stage.

The RS Thermal Management Technology Solutions range comprises over 300 products sourced from 18 market-leading manufacturers, such as National Semiconductor, ebm papst, Aavid Thermalloy, Melcor, Sanyo Denki, Analog Devices, Pfannenberg and Dallas/Maxim.

RS has brought together products for both PCBs and enclosures, ranging from temperature sensing, control and protection, to cooling and heating devices. The IC range comprises analogue and digital temperature sensors, controls and thermostats, system hardware monitors and fan controllers. The hardware offer includes fans and blowers, heatsinks, thermal interface accessories, temperature monitors, Peltier heat pump devices and enclosure systems such as thermostats, heaters and air conditioners.
