Slew bearings and gearboxes integrated for packaged drives

Brevini UK has used a joint venture agreement between its parent company and La Leonessa to add new slew bearing options to the slew gearboxes that it supplies to the marine and other sectors.

The resulting ‘packaged drive’ approach brings several benefits to UK customers, including a reduced number of interfaces for the machine builder to manage, pre- and post-sales support for the complete drive train and full technical assistance for the La Leonessa range of solid ring slew bearings.

As well as high quality slew bearings for wind turbines, the joint venture has opened up opportunities for packaged planetary gearboxes and slew bearings in water treatment plants and for large marine winches.

The La Leonessa slew bearings can be specified to match individual application requirements. They are produced in sizes from 300mm diameter to 4,000mm diameter in a range of materials to suit different applications. Design variations include single or double row ball bearings or roller bearings, internal or external gearing or no gearing.
