Easily expandable panel PCs

Available now from Review Display Systems is the new AAEON 'OMNI' line of expandable panel PCs.

The pioneer model is the OMNI-2155, which because of its modular design shortens the lead time in customising a panel PC. Now there is no need to strip down the system device to its component parts and reassemble it to the required specifications.

A simple expansion connector on the main CPU box makes this all possible. Dubbed the `OMNI- slot’, each module is connected to the CPU box through this slot. This `plug-and-play’ approach not only makes customisation and expansion much easier, it enables the device to be NRE free, therefore saving costs.

A total of eight modules are currently available: a USB/ COM/ LAN combo module, a dual LAN module, a MiniCard and SIM card module, an RS-232/422/485 module, an isolated RS-232/422/485 module, a digital I/O module, a CAN Bus module, and an audio module.

The panel itself is a 15.6in device with a 16:9 P-CAP touchscreen and a full aluminium chassis that offers wider operating temperature and superior cooling.

The use of modules as building blocks means much more flexibility and ease of use in customising panel PCs which is the route for future AAEON OMNI-products.
