Small-format TFTs feature extended temperature range

Ginsbury has introduced two small-format TFT display modules from Japanese display manufacturer Kyocera featuring an extended operating temperature range of -30°C to +85°C and a storage temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.

The new 4.2in TFT display has a resolution of 480 x 272 pixels, a contrast ratio of 1200:1, brightness rating of 700 cd/m² and 160 degree horizontal and vertical viewing angles. A 6-bit RGB CMOS interface provides up to 262k colours.

The 5.0in display module is a portrait mode VGA display with a resolution of 480 x 640 pixels. Optical characteristics include a brightness rating of 800 cd/m² and a 500:1 contrast ratio. Viewing angles are 140 degrees horizontal and 110 degrees vertical. The module has an 8-bit RGB CMOS data interface supporting up to 16.7M colours.

Both modules are targeted for use in harsh, wide operating temperature environments and applications such outdoor controls, industrial systems, navigation units and construction equipment.
