Auto-ranging adds flexibility to programmable dc power supplies

Intepro Systems' general purpose panel-mounted units offer output ratings up to 3kW, high efficiency and an auto-ranging feature that facilitates a wide range of test conditions.

The PS9000 2U Series of panel-mounted, auto-ranging programmable dc power sources offer models rated at 1.5kW and 3.0kW, and operate at 92-93 percent efficiency.

Unlike other dc sources that provide rated power only when maximum voltage is applied to the load, the PS9000 2U's auto-ranging output stage is capable of delivering maximum rated power to the load when test requirements call for lower output voltage or current.

This feature avoids the need to purchase a unit with a higher power rating to accommodate a range of test conditions.
