The lighter side of machine format adjustment

igus has developed a maintenance-free linear unit, the DryLin EasyTube, primarily for machine format adjustments. This compact and lightweight system comprises six parts: the lead screw, tube, two clamping rings, attachment flange and slide block. The system is available ex-stock with diameters of 25, 12 or 30mm, and is completely lubrication-free.

The external tube, which guides the slide block, is available either in anodised aluminium or stainless steel. The trapezoidal lead screw and nut are integrated into the tube to protect them from adverse environmental conditions and to keep the system as a whole as small as possible. With this compact single-tube system, any applied moment is supported by the tube itself, and therefore a second guide shaft is not required.

The slide block, moment support and lead screw nut are made from a single moulding of the igus heavy-duty polymer, iglidur P, a material characterised by its high wear resistance, low friction values and minimal moisture absorption. The two end blocks that support the DryLin EasyTube are also made of lubrication-free iglidur P and serve as a radial and axial bearing system for the lead screw.

the DryLin EasyTube can be used to carry out machine adjustments whose loads impose up to 15kg in a vertical installation position or 50kg for an almost moment-free horizontal set-up.
