Compact, sub-miniature switches and pilot indicators

IDEC's 'A Series' range of sub-miniature panel-mount switches and pilot indicators offers substantial panel space-savings without compromising on performance.

IDEC Electronics has a range of sub-miniature panel-mount switches and pilot indicators – the ‘A Series’ – which offers substantial panel space-saving benefits without compromising on performance and load capacity.

The new products include the A8 Series (8mm diameter panel cutout); the A1 Series (10mm diameter panel cutout); and the A2 Series (12mm diameter panel cutout). These switches are ideal for high density or very small control panels such as handheld devices, and for controlling PLC inputs, timer triggers, sensor triggers, or similar logic level switching operations.

Requiring a panel cutout of just 8mm, the A8 Series switches and pilots offer the ultimate in panel space saving. Featuring low-level, gold-clad silver snap-acting contacts, the IP40 protected devices cover a wide range of application needs.

The series offers a choice of round, square or rectangular bezels, five pilot indicator colours (white, yellow, amber, green, red), and either momentary or maintained (push-on/push-off) actions. Unlike most other switches and pilot lights of similar size, IDEC’s A8 Series LED indicator lamps are replaceable.

The A1 Series 10mm diameter snap-action (momentary or maintained) switches and LED pilot indicators are also available with round, square or rectangular bezels, five pilot indicator colours and a protection rating of IP40. The A2 Series 12mm diameter switches and LED pilot indicators offer similar features, but with the addition of optional IP65 protection and oil-resistant faces.

All three sizes (A8, A1 and A2) extend 22mm behind the panel (not including terminals) and come with a choice of solder or PCB-ready terminations. Switching load capacity is 1A/24V, 0.5A/220V (resistive) and mechanical life is 200,000 operations (momentary) and 100,000 operations (maintained).

A Series switches feature removable marking plates, which can be customised with legends (engraved or screen printed); accessories include panel-mount switch guards and behind-panel protective terminal covers. All A Series switches and panel inicators are UL recognised and CSA certified.
