High-performance toroidal rolling bearings

Schaeffler (UK) has added high-performance toroidal rolling bearings with angular adjustment capability toits X-life range.

The FAG TORB range of toroidal rolling bearings is manufactured to Schaeffler’s premium quality X-life standard. They are single row rolling bearings with long, slightly spherical rollers, enabling the FAG TORB to combine the angular adjustment capabilities of a spherical roller bearing with the axial displacement capabilities of a cylindrical or needle roller bearing.

Two versions are offered: as full complement bearings or as a caged version. When the design envelope is restricted, the caged bearing provides very high radial load carrying capacity, even when skewing or axial displacements need to be compensated for. The full complement bearing offers a particularly high load carrying capacity.

FAG TORB bearings allow the operational reliability and cost-effectiveness of locating/non-locating bearing supports to be significantly increased.

Complete interchangeability with previous bearing designs is also provided, as FAG TORB bearings are manufactured to the same ISO dimensions as spherical and cylindrical roller bearings that are used as non-locating bearings.
