Global packaging forum in Las Vegas

After the success of ABB Robotics ‘Global Packaging Forum - Robotics meets Packaging’ event in Germany last year, the company is hosting a new two-day conference at JW Marriott Hotel in Las Vegas on 12-13 October 2007. The Forum, which immediately precedes Pack Expo, will explore the future trends and benefits of robotic automation in the packaging industry.

Keynote speaker, Ben Miyares, vice president, Industry Relations for the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute (PMMI), joins other speakers from global manufacturers and institutions in presenting papers. Topics will range from the global growth for robotics in packaging to the specifics of improving productivity through new gripper technologies. The impact that packaging now has on fiercely competitive consumer industries, such as food, beverage and pharmaceuticals, will also be explored.

The Global Packaging Forum provides a platform for important decision makers, end users, system integrators and key industry leaders to network, share experiences and facilitate business.

Previous attendee, Dr David Hopper of RTS Flexible Systems, said about the Forum, “It was excellent. I would especially like to mention the high quality of the presentations. It has also offered a good chance to network with established and new connections. I took a lot of new knowledge back home to present to my company. I have no doubt the Forum will result in interesting new business possibilities.”
