Stäubli are well known for their TX/RX ranges of high speed, high precision 6-axis robots, as well as the Scara 4-axis robots. Now a new, high performance, mini-Scara robot has been added to the growing model range.
Space is often at a premium when automation systems are being designed and integrated. The new RS20 provides all the benefits of a Stäubli Scara robot but in ultra-compact form, ideal for use on table or benchtop automation. With a footprint of just 250mm x 150mm, weighing just 15kgs and a reach of 220mm and payload of 1kg, the RS20 is ideal for automation tasks such as dispensing, testing, packaging and assembly. It is even small enough to be incorporated inside a machining centre and runs on 230V single phase supply.
The RS20 uses the same control platform and programming language as other Stäubli robots. The CS8C M controller is a compact lightweight design based on Staubli’s CS8 platform. The CS8 controls platform is ideally suited for applications that require complex process control. The CS8 uses VAL3 programming language which is perfectly adapted to robotics - and includes many communication options including Fieldbus, Ethernet, offline programming and ModBus for ease of integration and use.
All cables run internally inside the arm, including the electrical / pneumatic user lines, ensuring the highest availability and failure protection; and this Mini-Scara has a repeatability of +/- 0.01 mm.
