Completion of the Lenze 9400 servo drive range has been achieved faster than scheduled. Single axis drives are now available for rated currents up to 695A, and peak up to 1250A. In effect, this means that there are 22 models starting at a power of 0.37kW and extending to 370kW. All have the option for plug-in safety modules that can achieve advanced functionality such as safe stopping under power, safe jog and safety limited speed, meeting EN954-1 requirements.
In keeping with the Lenze philosophy of the customer paying for only the level of functionality needed, there are two versions of the 9400 drive. The lower cost StateLine models are simplified for systems with centralised control, nevertheless achieving high performance with a 500 microsecond processing time. The HighLline models feature built-in memory and fieldbus capacity to allow local control to be achieved within the drive. Drive software is also scalable with the entry level “L-force Engineer” suiting the majority of servo applications and being free of charge.
Highline drives feature built-in CANopen fieldbus at no extra charge. Further fieldbuses can be added through optional plug-in modules. Most popular are Ethenet TCP/IP and Profibus. However, where multi-axis high speed motion control is the case, a real time fieldbus may be needed. Here there are two options: Ethernet Powerlink or Profinet, both available as plug-in modules.
With availability of the full 9400 servo range, Lenze offer the machine designer the latest in technology and performance. The 9400 has been consistently designed to save time in planning, construction, programming and commissioning. Furthermore the customer can choose the appropriate level of functionality and save on purchase cost.
