Two distribution boxes launched

Wieland Electric has launched two new distribution boxes to complete the gesis IP+ range. The gesis IP+ pluggable installation system comprises an IP68 range of easy-to-use connectors, pre-fabricated and tested cable assemblies and appliance couplers that will manage incoming supply, distribution, routing and interfacing to terminal devices.

A system-optimised plastic housing serves as the base to which device connections with various poles or mechanical codings can be fitted. It is available in two options: a compact distribution unit (150 x 105 x 55 mm) with up to four slots or a multi-distributor (150 x 105 x 95 mm) with up to eight slots. In addition to fulfilling its distribution function, the ample multi-distribution box can also accept additional modules such as fuses.

The two-piece housings, which are equipped with M25 device connections, offer four punched fixing points. The circuit diagram is printed on the cover and the inner wiring is designed for 2.5mm² or 4mm² cross sections.

The distribution boxes can be used in applications where power or signals have to be distributed safely and quickly, including single and three-phase distributions. Customised designs are also available.

The use of gesis IP+ distribution boxes is particularly beneficial wherever system components are completely pre-assembled and tested, independent of their later location. The boxes have an IP68 rating, making them suitable for use in harsh industrial environments.

The gesis IP+ installation system is pre-assembled and available in two, three, four and five pole variations. Being a pluggable system it clearly saves installation time and costs and offers considerable savings in the case of maintenance, whilst downtime is kept to a minimum. The system consists of connectors, pre-assembled cables, distribution units, locking pieces and distribution boxes and can be used in many different industries, such as in automation and system engineering, shipbuilding, construction power systems, in solar technology, for project installations and in event technology or outdoor lighting.
