Newchurch based Kent Auto developments makes a range of brake calipers
for sports motorbikes and racing Minis. The piston seals within each
caliper are a safety critical compaonent and are required to provide a
100% hydraulic seal at high pressures and elevated temperatures.
The seal system was designed and is being manufactured by DP Seals. This
keeps the hydraulic fluid as far away from the heat source as possible,
thus reducing the risk of it reaching boiling point, which would
otherwise cause fading under hard braking conditions. The seals are made
from a specially formulated EPDM and the fitted components are subjected
to exhaustive road and pressure testing to 4,500psi.
