Economical position sensing

The rugged, industrial EP Series magnetostrictive sensor, available from RDP Electronics Ltd, offers machine builders an ideal, low-cost way of measuring and controlling linear positions in an automated system.

Utilising the well-proven MTS magnetostrictive ‘absolute’ principle, the EP Series provides a linearity of 0.02% to a repeatability of 0.001%. Measuring ranges are available up to 2200 mm with analogue outputs of 4-20 mA, or 0-10 V. The sensing magnet, which identifies the system position, can be supplied in various styles to assist the design engineer with attachment to the part to be controlled.
