DP Seals has developed a watertight seal for the Aquapacer Training Aid
produced by Scotland's Challenge & Response. Used by British Olympic
swimmers such as Paul Palmer and Nick Gillingham - and credited with
helping Australian Ian Thorpe to set four world records - the Aquapacer
consists of a hand held programmer which downloads essential training
information to a small sounding unit worn by the swimmer.
DP Seals' contribution was to design and manufacture a seal for the
sounding unit which would not only be absolutely watertight but would
also allow the lid to be snapped shut easily and positively - and this
was achieved through a D-section rubber seal which was seated in a
grooved dome. In addition, the seal was produced in a specific colour to
match the styling of the Aquapacer.
