Horizontal mounting of boards possible

Schroff has expanded its portfolio of AdvancedTCA products with a new range of compact 2 to 5-slot systems designed to allow modules to be mounted horizontally.

Aimed at both the development environment and enterprise solutions, the new range of AdvancedTCA systems incorporates hot-swap capable fan units with a cooling performance of 200W per front board and 15W for the rear I/O area, while an independent fan controller enables the systems to be operated without shelf management.

Configured for 19" assembly and featuring built-in EMC shielding, the new systems are available in a choice of four standard configurations.

The 2U entry model has a 2-slot backplane with node-node configuration. Two boards can be mounted at the front and two further boards at the rear. The power supply, operating from a telecom voltage of -48/-60VDC, is implemented with two power entry modules.

The 3U system also offers a 2-slot backplane, this time in a node-hub configuration. Two horizontal 8U/6HP AdvancedTCA boards can be mounted at the front and the rear, and the system operates from a built-in 800W ac power supply with a universal 115-230V input.

Completing the range are two 5U systems featuring a triple replicated mesh backplane with slots for five horizontally mounted boards at the front and rear. This model is available as an ac version for 100 to 240V or as a dc version for telecom voltages of -48/-60Vdc.

All models except the 2U version are equipped with additional slots for a shelf manager with bussed IPMI (intelligent platform management interface) and a shelf alarm panel, if required.
